                                                                  • Using a 2-inch round cutter, cut the dough into 64 circles. (You can reroll the scraps once.) Place the cookies about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets and chill for 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
                                                                  • Bake the cookies until they are set and slightly darker around the edges, about 20 minutes. Cool completely on wire racks.
                                                                  • Meanwhile, prepare the filling: Using a mixer, cream the butter and shortening until fluffy. Beat in the confectioners' sugar and vanilla.

                                                                  • Coat paper with non-stick vegetable spray and set aside.
                                                                  • In a large mixing bowl, break half of the cookies into coarse pieces with fingers or the back of a wooden spoon.
                                                                  • In a microwave safe glass or ceramic mixing bowl, melt one package of the white chocolate according to package directions.
                                                                  • Remove from microwave and quickly fold in broken cookie pieces.
                                                                  • Pour mixture into prepared pan and spread to cover half the pan.
                                                                  • Repeat process with remaining chocolate and cookies, spreading mixture into the other half of pan.

                                                                  • Pour the remaining 1 cup of cream into a medium size metal bowl, set in an ice water bath in a larger bowl. Set a mesh seive on top of the bowls. Set aside.
                                                                  • In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks together. Slowly pour the heated milk, cream, coffee mixture into the egg yolks, whisking constantly so that the egg yolks are tempered by the warm milk, but not cooked by it. Pour the warmed egg yolks back into the saucepan.
                                                                  • Stir the mixture constantly over medium heat with a heatproof, flat-bottomed spatula, scraping the bottom as you stir, until the mixture thickens and coats the spatula so that you can run your finger across the coating and have the coating not run. Be patient. This step can take 5 to 10 minutes.
                                                                  • Pour the custard through the seive and stir it into the chilled cream. Chill mixture thoroughly in the refrigerator.
                                                                  • When thoroughly chilled and ready to put into your ice cream maker, add the rum and the crushed oreo cookies. Process the mixture in your ice cream maker according to the ice cream maker directions. Transfer mixture to a plastic storage container and freezer in your freezer until firm, at least 6 hours.

                                                                  • Set two racks in the middle of the oven. Preheat to 375 degrees.
                                                                  • In a food processor, or bowl of an electric mixer, thoroughly mix the flour, cocoa, baking soda and powder, salt, and sugar.
                                                                  • While pulsing, or on low speed, add the butter, and then the egg.
                                                                  • Continue processing or mixing until dough comes together in a mass.
                                                                  • Take rounded teaspoons of batter and place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet approximately 2 inches apart.
                                                                  • With moistened hands, slightly flatten the dough. Bake for 9 minutes, rotating once for even baking. Set baking sheets on a rack to cool.
                                                                  • To make the cream, place butter and shortening in a mixing bowl, and at low speed, gradually beat in the sugar and vanilla.
                                                                  • Turn the mixer on high and beat for 2-3 minutes until filling is light and fluffy.
                                                                  • To assemble the cookies, in a pastry bag with a 1/2 inch, round tip, pipe teaspoon-size blobs of cream into the center of one cookie.
                                                                  • Place another cookie, equal in size to the first, on top of the cream.
                                                                  • Lightly press, to work the filling evenly to the outsides of the cookie.
                                                                  • Continue this process until all the cookies have been sandwiched with cream.

                                                                  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a small mixing bowl, combine the cookie crumbs and butter. Mix well. Press firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch spring-form pan. Bake until firm to the touch, about 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool completely. Fill half of saucepan with water, place over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Place the chocolate in a small stainless steel mixing bowl. Place over the saucepan and melt until smooth, stirring occasionally. In a saucepan, over medium heat, combine the half-and-half, sugar, and vanilla bean with pulp. Bring to a simmer. In a small mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks until smooth. Add 1 cup of the hot liquid to the egg yolks and whisk until smooth. Add the yolk mixture to the saucepan of liquid and whisk until incorporated. Bring the liquid back to simmer and continue to cook for 4 to 6 minutes or until the mixture coats the back of a spoon. Remove from the heat and stir in the melted chocolate. Whisk until smooth. Pour the mixture into a glass bowl and place a piece of plastic wrap directly on top of the mixture. This will prevent a skin from forming while cooling.
                                                                  • Cool the mixture completely. Process the mixture according the ice cream machine's instructions. Break the cookies into small pieces. During the last couple of minutes of churning, fold in the cookie pieces. Remove the ice cream and spread evenly over the prepared crust. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze until hard. In a bowl, combine the strawberries and the sugar and mix well. Refrigerate for 1 hour. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a whip attachment, combine the cream and white chocolate. Whip until medium stiff peaks form. Remove the pie from the freezer and remove the plastic wrap. Run a sharp knife around the sides of the pan. Remove the spring-form. Spread the white chocolate mixture over the top of the pie. Slice the pie into individual servings. Place a piece in the center of each serving plate. Spoon the strawberries next to the pie. Garnish with a drizzle of the chocolate sauce, cookies and fresh mint

                                                                  This is a carnival favorite where I grew up. Oreos get dipped into pancake batter and fried - yummy!! You can do this with or without a deep fryer.

                                                                  • Bring a large pot of salted water to boil, add lasagna noodles and bring water to boil again. Cook until noodles are al dente. Drain well.
                                                                  • Mix together ricotta, eggs, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, and 2 teaspoons basil.
                                                                  • Saute sliced onion and mushrooms in 1/8 cup oil until tender. Add spinach and zucchini to the pot. Cover pot, and cook until spinach is wilted.
                                                                  • Spread 1/2 cup of the tomato mixture into a 9x13 inch baking pan. Place 1 layer of noodles on top of the tomato sauce; spread all of the ricotta mixture onto the noodles; place another layer of noodles atop of the ricotta mixture; pour 2 cups tomato sauce onto the noodles; arrange all of the sauteed vegetables on top of the sauce; arrange another layer of noodles; pour the remaining tomato sauce over the final layer of noodles and top with mozzarella cheese and 1 cup Parmesan cheese.
                                                                  • Bake the lasagna for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it cool 10 minutes before serving.

                                                                  • Shred the cheese.
                                                                  • Before you start, be sure an adult is nearby to help.
                                                                  • Hold a box grater-shredder on a plate with one hand. Holding the mozzarella cheese in your other hand, rub the cheese over the large shredding holes of the box grater-shredder.
                                                                  • Cook the meat.
                                                                  • Ask an adult to help you now. Put the olive oil in a large sauté pan and set it over medium heat. Add the ground turkey. Using a wooden spoon, break up any large chunks. Squeeze the sausages from their casings. Add the sausage meat to the sauté pan.
                                                                  • Using the wooden spoon, keep pushing the ground turkey and the sausage around in the pan until they are no longer pink. This will take about 5 minutes.
                                                                  • Simmer the sauce.
                                                                  • Add the tomato sauce to the pan and stir to coat the meat. Heat the mixture until small bubbles start to form in the tomato sauce; this is called a simmer. Simmer the sauce, stirring occasionally, for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside.
                                                                  • Cook the pasta.
                                                                  • Fill a large pot three-fourths full with water. Place over high heat and bring to a rolling boil. When the water is boiling, add the salt. Drop in the noodles, then push them down into the water with a long-handled wooden fork. Boil the noodles, stirring occasionally, until they are flexible but still a little chewy, 7 to 8 minutes, or according to the instructions on the package of noodles.
                                                                  • Make the filling.
                                                                  • While the pasta is cooking, you'll have time to make the cheese filling: In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese and 2/3 cup of the Parmesan cheese.
                                                                  • One at a time, crack the eggs into a small bowl and check for shells. Then pour the eggs into the bowl with the cheeses. Using a wooden spoon, beat until smooth.
                                                                  • Set a colander in the sink. Ask an adult to help you pour the noodles into the colander. Rinse with cold water and drain again.
                                                                  • Start to layer.
                                                                  • Position an oven rack in the center of the oven. Preheat the oven to 350°F
                                                                  • Put a 9-by-13-by-2-inch baking dish on the counter in front of you. Arrange the tomato sauce, drained lasagna noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella cheese and the remaining 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese next to you.
                                                                  • Use a rubber spatula to spread 1/2 cup of the tomato sauce in the bottom of the baking dish. Lay 3 lasagna noodles, side by side, over the sauce. Spread half of the ricotta over the noodles. Top with one-third of the mozzarella. Spread 2 cups tomato sauce over the cheese.
                                                                  • Finish layering.
                                                                  • Repeat the layering, adding 3 more noodles, the rest of the ricotta, half of the remaining mozzarella cheese and another 2 cups tomato sauce on top. Top with the final 3 noodles, the remaining 2 cups tomato sauce and the rest of the mozzarella cheese.
                                                                  • Sprinkle the finished lasagna with the remaining Parmesan cheese. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
                                                                  • Bake, cool and serve.
                                                                  • Put the baking dish in the oven and bake for 30 minutes. Ask an adult to help you remove the foil. Bake, uncovered, until the cheese is lightly golden and the lasagna is bubbling around the edges, about 30 minutes more.
                                                                  • Ask an adult to help you take the dish out of the oven. Set the lasagna on a wire cooling rack and let cool for 5 to 10 minutes. Using a metal spatula, cut down through the pasta layers to make 8 or 10 squares. Lift each square onto a plate to serve. Serves 8 to 10.

                                                                  • Bring a large pot of well-salted water to a boil. Working batches, cook the lasagna noodles until they are soft and pliable but not limp, 6 to 7 minutes. Remove the pasta from the boiling water and lay flat on a sheet tray to cool. Reserve.
                                                                  • Coat a large saute pan with olive oil and bring to medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook until brown and crumbly. Remove from pan and reserve on paper towels.
                                                                  • Ditch the fat from the pan and add new olive oil along with 2 cloves of garlic and a pinch of crushed red pepper. Bring the pan to medium-high heat. When the garlic becomes golden and very aromatic, remove it from the heat and discard. Toss in the mushrooms and season them with salt. Cook the mushrooms until they are soft and wilted and dark brown, 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from pan and reserve. Repeat this process with the remaining garlic and the zucchini.
                                                                  • In a small bowl, combine the ricotta, 1/2 the Parmigiano-Reggiano, the eggs, and the basil. Mix to combine well and season with salt.
                                                                  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
                                                                  • In the bottom of a 9 by 13-inch deep-dish baking dish, add a couple ladlefuls of sauce and spread out in an even layer. Arrange a layer of the lasagna noodles to completely cover the sauce. Spread 1/3 of the ricotta mixture over the pasta. Place a layer of pasta going in the other direction as the first layer (this will give a little more stability). Spread a light layer of sauce on the pasta and sprinkle 1/3 of the sausage over the sauce, repeat this process with 1/3 of the mushrooms and zucchini. Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella and some of the remaining Parmigiano-Reggiano over the veggies. Repeat these layers until all the ingredients have been used up or the pan is full. Be sure that there is a layer of pasta on top covered with sauce and sprinkled with mozzarella and Parmigiano. Cover with foil.
                                                                  • Place the lasagna on a baking sheet and bake in the oven until the lasagna is hot and bubbly, about 1 hour 15 minutes, removing the foil for the last 15 minutes of cooking. Let cool for 20 minutes before slicing.
                                                                  • Note: For optimal slicing, make and bake the lasagna the day before. Heat it up again before slicing.
                                                                  • Coat a large saucepot with olive oil and add the pancetta. Bring the pot to medium-high heat and cook the pancetta for 4 to 5 minutes. Add the onions, season generously with salt, and stir to coat with the olive oil. Cook the onions for 6 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently; the onions should become very soft and aromatic but have no color. Add the garlic and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
                                                                  • Pass the tomatoes through a food mill. Be sure to pass all of the pulp through the holes leaving only the stems and the seeds, and be sure to scrape the pulp off of the bottom of the food mill. That's all of the big money stuff! Add the tomatoes to the pot and rinse out one of the empty tomato cans with water and add that water to the pot (about 2 to 3 cups). Season generously with salt and taste it; tomatoes take a lot of salt. Season in baby steps and taste every step of the way. Cook the sauce for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally and tasting frequently.
                                                                  • Use the sauce right away on pasta or for any other tomato sauce need. This sauce can also be cooled and stored in the fridge for a few days or it freezes really well.

                                                                  • Heat the oil in a large pot on high heat. Add the beef and coat it with pepper. Cook through, about 5 to 6 minutes. Remove the beef from the pot and add in the onions, peppers, 1/2 of the garlic, and herbs. Turn the heat to medium and cook the vegetables until soft. Add in the tomato sauce and paste. Season with salt and pepper and let simmer for 1 hour.
                                                                  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
                                                                  • Add the dry lasagna to the boiling water and cook until al dente. Remove and place on baking sheet coated with olive oil. Toss the pasta to coat it completely.
                                                                  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
                                                                  • In a bowl, mix the ricotta and Parmesan well. In a 9 by 12-inch baking dish, begin laying down the pasta. Smooth on a layer of the cheese mixture and spoon on meat sauce. Add another layer of pasta and repeat this process until you reach the top of the dish. The final layer should be cheese mixture and fresh mozzarella.
                                                                  • Cover with foil and place in the oven. Bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and let brown for 15 more minutes.
                                                                  • Cut the rustic bread in half and spread on butter. Add minced garlic, salt and pepper and wrap in foil. Bake until hot throughout. Unwrap the bread but keep it in the foil. Let crisp up and serve.
                                                                  • To serve, spoon on meat sauce on a warm plate. Place a large square of lasagna on the pool of sauce. Top with Parmesan and a basil leaf.

                                                                  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Heat the oil in a large Dutch oven over high heat.
                                                                  • Season the shanks on both sides with salt and pepper, place in the pan and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 4 minutes per side.
                                                                  • Remove the shanks to a plate. Remove fat from the pan. Add the pancetta to the pan and cook until golden brown. Remove pancetta with a slotted spoon to a plate lined with paper towels.
                                                                  • Add the onion, carrots, celery and garlic to the pan and cook until soft and lightly golden brown, 4 to 5 minutes.
                                                                  • Add the red wine, scrape the bottom of the pan and cook until completely reduced. Add the beef stock, diced tomatoes, thyme, rosemary and parsley and bring to a simmer. Add the shanks and 1/3 of the pancetta back to the pan, cover and transfer to the oven. Cook until the meat is tender and falling off the bone, about 2 hours.
                                                                  • Remove the shanks to a cutting board and when cool enough to handle, shred the meat into bite-size pieces and place in a bowl.
                                                                  • Strain the cooking liquid into a bowl. Place 3 cups of the cooking liquid into a large high-sided saute pan and bring to a boil over high heat. Cook until the liquid is reduced to about 3/4 cup. Add the shredded meat and the remaining cooked pancetta to the pan along with 1 cup of the tomato sauce, parsley and basil and stir to combine and just heat through.
                                                                  • Stir together the ricotta, eggs, parsley, basil, cheese and salt and pepper in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld.
                                                                  • Heat the oil in a large saute pan over medium-high heat, add the onions and cook until soft, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the garlic and red chili flakes and cook for 1 minute. Add the tomatoes, bring to boil, season with salt and pepper and cook until the sauce is reduced and thickened, about 25 to 30 minutes. Stir in the parsley and basil.
                                                                  • Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and let cook for about 2 minutes. Slowly whisk in 2 cups of the hot milk and continue whisking until the sauce is thickened and loses its raw flavor, about 5 to 7 minutes. Season the sauce with nutmeg, salt and pepper and whisk in the cheeses. If the sauce is too thick, whisk in some of the remaining milk.
                                                                  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
                                                                  • Butter the bottom and sides of a 9 by 13-inch baking dish with the butter. Ladle a thin layer of bechamel evenly over the bottom of the pan. Place a layer of pasta dough, cut to fit the inside of the pan on top of the bechamel and top the pasta with the ricotta mixture and spread evenly. Spread a thin layer of bechamel over the ricotta, sprinkle with a few tablespoons of Parmesan and some basil leaves. Top with another layer of pasta and spread the meat mixture evenly over the top. Ladle an even layer of bechamel over the Bolognese mixture, sprinkle with a few tablespoons of Parmesan and some basil leaves. Place the final layer of pasta dough over the meat mixture and ladle the bechamel over the top to completely cover the pasta and sprinkle with 3 tablespoons of Parmesan.
                                                                  • Place the pan on a baking sheet and cover loosely with aluminum foil. Bake for 20 minutes. Reduce the heat to 350 degrees F, remove the foil and continue baking until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling, about 25 to 35 minutes longer. Remove from the oven and let rest 10 minutes before cutting. Cut into slices and top with some of the tomato sauce, more grated cheese and chopped parsley and basil.

                                                                  This is one of the best tasting deserts I've ever had. It's so quick and easy! A family and friend hit ALL THE TIME! At during Halloween, you could decorate with Cool Whip ghosts. For my nieces Birthday party, my sister had a 'garden theme'. She put the servings in individual dishes and hid a gummy worm inside!                                                                   • Place the rolled balls in the freezer for 15 minutes.
                                                                  • While the oreo balls are in the freezer, melt one of the chocolates in a double boiler or in the microwave per instructions.
                                                                  • Take the oreo balls out of the freezer and quickly drop them one by one in the chocolate with a spoon and allow extra chocolate to drain off.
                                                                  • Place oreo balls on wax paper to dry.
                                                                  • The chocolate will harden and they are ready to serve or can be kept in a sealed container in the refridgerator for up to 2 weeks.

                                                                  • Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Place 16 of the cookies in resealable plastic bag. Flatten bag to remove excess air, then seal bag. Finely crush cookies by rolling a rolling pin across the bag. Place in bowl. Add butter; mix well. Press firmly onto bottom of 9-inch springform pan.
                                                                  • Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating just until blended after each addition. Chop or crush remaining 8 cookies. Gently stir half of the chopped cookies into cream cheese batter. Pour over prepared crust; sprinkle with the remaining chopped cookies.

You can use white or dark melting chocolate and use different color melting chips for different holidays.
